Don Kinsey

Don Kinsey is an Executive Vice President of The Picerne Group and is a member of The Picerne Group's Executive Committee. He is involved in establishing strategic direction and capital procurement efforts, manages the investment committee process, and oversees the finance, operation and accounting functions.

Prior to joining The Picerne Group in early 2009, Mr. Kinsey was a Principal at Onex Real Estate Partners, where he led the strategic direction of the firm's west coast business efforts and focused on capitalizing on distressed opportunities. As Principal at Onex, Mr. Kinsey defined the group's strategy and acquisition criteria, established valuation and diligence parameters and developed strong in-house research capabilities.

From 1992 through 2007 Mr. Kinsey spent fifteen years as an investment banker at Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, where he developed an extensive background in capital raising and strategic advisory to owners and operators of both private and public real estate companies. Mr. Kinsey possesses a broad range of expertise in a variety of product areas including Real Estate Finance and Securitization, Leveraged Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions and Equities. Prior to graduate school Mr. Kinsey spent five years in commercial banking at Citicorp and Union Bank in Los Angeles.

Mr. Kinsey received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree from Whittier College in Economics and Business Administration.

Mr. Kinsey sits on the Board and is Treasurer of the Executive Committee of Heal the Bay, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean through the use of research, education, community action and advocacy.
