Picerne Capital focuses on purchasing distressed and non-performing first mortgage loans, discounted subordinate debt and preferred equity, and direct equity in real estate owned (REO) properties. Picerne Capital also offers expertise in the area of Asset Management.

  • Picerne Capital was formed in 1999 to invest in non-performing loan portfolios and REO properties purchased from Japanese banks.
  • Through 2003, Picerne Capital acquired, serviced, foreclosed on and ultimately liquidated over $1B of non-performing loans representing investments around the globe.
  • John Petrovski, President, and Rob Kukulka, Managing Director, both formerly of Merrill Lynch Capital and Heller Financial, joined The Picerne Group in 2008 and lead the Picerne Capital team out of Chicago.
  • Greg Nakahira, Managing Director, leads Picerne Capital's West Coast effort.
  • Over the past five years John led the origination, underwriting, portfolio management and syndication of over $10B of commercial property debt, mezzanine and equity investments.
  • Prior to joining Picerne Capital in 2008 John and Rob had a long history with The Picerne Group, most recently financing Picerne Capital's Japanese NPL transactions while at Heller Financial.
